28 lbs from Rhythm & Roots 2006!

can tabThank you, thank you, thank you!

We collected 28 pounds of can tabs from enthusiastic festival attendees at this year's Rhythm & Roots Festival (Sep 1-3).

From single tabs to huge containers full of tabs, Rhythm & Roots staff and patrons alike contributed their can tabs thru out the 3 day festival.

A very special thank you to Susan Quigley,
head of R&R's Kitchen & Beverage Crew for her single donation of almost 25 pounds of can tabs. Her scout troops had been collecting them all year long.

So a HUGE shout out and thank you to
Pack 55 Cub Scouts of Garden City and
Junior Troop #1636 Girl Scouts of Garden City.
Both groups received support from other troops and the surrounding community. Way to go!

The tabs collected will be delivered to the Pyramid Shriners #9 in Milford, CT in late September to be distributed to the Springfield, MA Shriners Hospital.

Many thanks to Susan Quigley and her scouts.
(Susan has another 20+lbs of tabs in bags at her feet)

Thanks for helping us to help the kids.

Shriners Hospital for Children logoShriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield and Boston have been collecting pull-tabs or “pop-tops” from beverage cans since 1989, recycling them, and putting the money toward programs that directly benefit children. Since its inception, about a half-million pounds of aluminum tabs have been collected and recycled.

What they're saying ...
"Working with Thirsty Lizards has always been a dream. But now that I can update my own text and photos, I have the best of both worlds: professional web support with the convenience of updating my site whenever I wish. The page manager is easy to use, the tools are intuitive, and I know Steve is always there if I run into a snag. If you're ready to fly through the air with the greatest of ease -- but still need a net -- this is the place to jump!"
